A Federal High Court in Kaduna has adjourned the bail application of former Kaduna governor, Nasir El-Rufai, to March 31, ordering that he remain in custody.
El-Rufai was arraigned on Tuesday on charges of alleged conversion of public property and money laundering filed by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission.
During proceedings, his counsel, Ukpon Akpan, urged the court to grant bail to allow him to prepare his defence, but the prosecution opposed the request, arguing it could interfere with ongoing investigations.

The former governor has been in custody since February 19 and had earlier filed a suit challenging his detention, as the court is expected to rule on his bail application at the next hearing.
