Bayo Adelabu Apologises to Nigerians Over Poor Power Supply

The Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has issued an apology to Nigerians over the persistent poor electricity supply across the country. The minister made the apology on Tuesday in Abuja during a briefing on the state of the nation’s power sector. Adelabu acknowledged the frustration of citizens who have endured months of unstable electricity, describing the situation as unacceptable and promising that the government is working urgently to address the challenges.

The Minister attributed the recent decline in power generation to a combination of factors, including gas supply constraints, grid infrastructure challenges, and ongoing maintenance at several power plants. He explained that the Transmission Company of Nigeria has been working to stabilise the national grid following a series of collapses that plunged many parts of the country into darkness.

The minister stated that the Federal Government is implementing a series of interventions aimed at improving gas supply to generation companies and strengthening the transmission network.
