NCC Orders Telcos to Compensate Subscribers Over Poor Network Service

The Nigerian Communications Commission has directed mobile network operators to compensate subscribers in areas where network quality falls below prescribed standards.

The directive was contained in a statement issued on Sunday by the Commission’s Head of Public Affairs, Nnenna Ukoha, as part of efforts to strengthen consumer protection in the telecoms sector.

Under the new measure, affected subscribers will receive airtime credits based on their average usage and location in areas where service failures are recorded, with operators required to comply with existing Quality of Service targets.
