Saidu Ahmed Alkali has resigned from his position as Minister of Transportation, according to a statement released on Tuesday by his media aide, Umar Alkali Jibril. The statement confirmed that the minister resigned to pursue his ambition to contest in the forthcoming governorship election in Gombe State.
In his resignation letter, Alkali expressed deep appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the opportunity to serve, noting the progress recorded in the transportation sector during his tenure. The statement added that the President has accepted the resignation and commended the former minister for his dedicated service to the nation.
Meanwhile, the Special Adviser to the Minister of Power, Bolaji Tunji, has dismissed reports that his principal, Adebayo Adelabu, has resigned from his position. Tunji described the reports as false and urged the public to disregard them. According to the aide, the minister remains in office and is fully committed to the responsibilities of his portfolio amid widespread speculation regarding a possible cabinet reshuffle.
