Singer Skales reacts to Chief Priest’s remarks on Jos violence

Singer Skales has criticised socialite Cubana Chief Priest over comments linking the recent deadly attack in Jos to President Bola Tinubu’s birthday. The remarks followed an assault on March 29 in the Gari Ya Waye area of Angwan Rukuba, Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.

More than 20 people were killed, and several others were injured when suspected gunmen stormed the community in the evening attack, forcing residents to flee as gunfire rang out. The incident has drawn widespread condemnation from public figures, including Ice Prince, Mr Macaroni and Peter Okoye.

In an Instagram post, Cubana Chief Priest expressed grief over the killings, criticised the state governor’s response, and suggested the attack was intended to embarrass President Tinubu. He also urged security agencies to improve their response and prayed for the victims and the president.

Reacting, Skales rejected the interpretation, describing the comments as insensitive and accusing the socialite of ignoring the loss of lives. He questioned the focus on political implications rather than the human tragedy.
