The team manager of Rovers FC of Calabar, Edem Oyom, says several of his players are suffering from internal bleeding after a road accident on Monday morning. The team was travelling to Lagos for a scheduled Nigeria National League fixture against Sporting Lagos FC when the crash occurred.
The accident happened at Okada Junction when the vehicle conveying the team reportedly lost control and overturned. One player was critically injured while others sustained deep cuts and other injuries.

Oyom said some officials, including himself, were also injured in the crash, adding that one severely injured player has been stabilised. He said the team had since been evacuated from Okada in Edo State to Asaba in Delta State for further medical treatment.
