Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to focus on addressing the country’s worsening security situation following a new wave of attacks across several states. He urged the President to rise to the demands of leadership and confront the challenges directly.
Atiku’s remarks come after the President’s recent visit to Jos, Plateau State, where he met with families affected by the Angwan Rukuba attack. During that visit, the President assured victims that such an incident would not happen again.
However, within days of that assurance, fresh attacks were reported in Plateau, with violence spreading to Kaduna, Katsina, Benue and Nasarawa states. The renewed killings have raised concerns about the effectiveness of current security measures.
