The Plateau State Commissioner of Police, Bassey Ewah, has warned that anyone found violating the ongoing curfew in the state will be arrested and prosecuted. He gave the warning on Tuesday during an expanded security council meeting convened by Governor Caleb Mutfwang at the Government House in Jos.
The curfew was initially imposed on Jos North Local Government Area following an attack in the Angwan Rukuba community that left 28 people dead. The state government later reviewed the measure after reporting a relative return to calm, adjusting the restriction to run daily from 6 pm to 6 am.
The Commissioner of Information and Communication, Joyce Ramnap, confirmed the adjustment, while the Director of Press and Public Affairs to the Governor, Gyang Bere, said the meeting reviewed recent developments and outlined coordinated security strategies.

CP Ewah said the directive now in place requires strict compliance across affected areas, confirming that the ban on commercial motorcycle operations and restrictions on tricycle movements remain in force. He dismissed reports of protests in the state and urged residents to cooperate with security agencies, stressing that all measures are aimed at maintaining peace and order.
