Three people have been killed and four others injured after suspected bandits carried out coordinated attacks on several communities in the Malumfashi Local Government Area of Katsina State on Sunday night.
Residents said the attackers struck the communities of Gobirawa, Badole, Yammama and Dayi in quick succession. They said Gobirawa and Badole were the worst affected as the gunmen invaded homes and opened fire, causing panic among residents.
Community members said residents resisted the attackers while police patrol teams and local vigilantes responded quickly, helping to repel the gunmen and restore calm. They also appealed for a sustained security presence, warning that continued attacks could disrupt farming activities during the rainy season.
