The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has formally inaugurated the new board of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), with former Kano State Governor and ex-APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, assuming the role of Chairman.
The ceremony, held in Abuja, drew key figures from relevant ministries and the aviation sector. The Ministry says the newly constituted board is tasked with strengthening oversight and boosting operational efficiency at Nigeria’s airports.

The eight-member board includes representatives from the Ministries of Aviation, Tourism, and Defence, alongside FAAN’s Managing Director.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu first announced Ganduje’s appointment in January while he was still leading the APC. His inauguration comes shortly after he stepped down as party chairman.
The board is expected to play a central role in advancing reforms within the country’s aviation infrastructure.
