Nollywood actress Opeyemi Aiyeola has called on Nigerian celebrities and influencers to reflect on their political choices amid rising insecurity in the country. She made the appeal in an Instagram video reacting to a recent deadly attack in Jos, Plateau State.
The 48-year-old expressed concern that the incident had not received widespread attention online, noting that national tragedies should not be overshadowed by political activities.
Aiyeola urged her colleagues, particularly those who publicly support the government, to prioritise the common good over personal interests. She acknowledged the right to individual political views but emphasised the responsibility that comes with public influence.
