Adamawa Poll: NSCDC Boss Summons State Commandant Over Alleged Complicity

The Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ahmed Abubakar Audi, has summoned Muhammad Bello, the Adamawa State Commandant, to its National Headquarters as a follow-up to the controversy surrounding the just concluded Adamawa State governorship rerun election where several security agencies were accused of complicity.

In a statement issued yesterday, the NSCDC Director of Public Relations noted that Mr. Audi had directed the State Commandant to immediately hand over affairs of the Command to his immediate subordinate.

The NSCDC says this will give Mr Bello time to provide the management of the corps with an explanation of the role he played in the Adamawa electoral exercise.

The Commandant-General says the Adamawa State Commandant’s role in the rerun election is currently being investigated and if found culpable, he will have himself to blame.
