The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has criticised Foreign Affairs Minister Yusuf Tuggar for his comments on the deportation of Nigerians from Venezuela, saying the issue should have been handled with greater discretion.
In a separate statement, the party accused the Tinubu administration of using recent appointments to offer what it described as “consolation prizes” to Northern Nigerians. It argued that such moves undermine national unity.

The ADC insisted that true unity and stability can only be achieved through fair representation, inclusive consultation, and strict adherence to the federal character principle in governance.
The comments come amid broader criticism over President Tinubu’s delay in appointing ambassadors, with former envoys last week calling the situation unacceptable after ten months without representation abroad.
