The Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, says the Federal Government is taking steps to address gas supply challenges affecting electricity generation in Nigeria. He made this known while speaking on ongoing issues in the power sector.
Adelabu said inadequate gas supply has limited the ability of power generation companies to operate at full capacity. He explained that many plants depend heavily on gas, making the sector vulnerable to supply disruptions.
According to the minister, the government is working with stakeholders in the oil and gas industry to resolve bottlenecks. He added that efforts are underway to improve gas infrastructure and ensure a steady supply to power plants.
