Ademola Lookman and William Troost-Ekong have been shortlisted for the 2024 CAF Men’s Player of the Year award, alongside eight other contenders. This marks their first nominations for the prestigious accolade.
The 27-year old Ademola Lookman impressed at both club and international levels, netting three goals for Nigeria at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, in Côte d’Ivoire and securing a hat-trick in Atalanta’s UEFA Europa League final win over Bayer Leverkusen.
Meanwhile, William Troost-Ekong, a center-back, was named Player of the Tournament at AFCON 2023. The CAF Awards will take place in Marrakech, Morocco, on December 16.
