The Athletics Federation of Nigeria has set up a special panel to investigate allegations of age cheating in national competitions. The panel was announced on Tuesday following rising concerns from stakeholders.
The National Sports Commission also warned that officials who aid falsification of athlete records will face sanctions. The commission said accurate age data is essential for fair competition and athlete development.

The AFN noted that recent complaints came from several youth events across the country. The investigation is expected to begin immediately, with findings to be submitted to the board for further action.
