The Africa Import-Export Bank has confirmed the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF) will now operate as an independent entity with a \$28 million capital base and permanent headquarters in Harare, Zimbabwe. The announcement came at the ongoing IATF 2025 in Algiers, marking a new phase for the initiative after four editions in nearly eight years.

Afreximbank President, Benedict Oramah, said the trade fair had matured into a self-sustaining platform and it was time to relieve Afreximbank and its partners of the responsibility of managing it directly. He praised Zimbabwe’s winning bid to host the headquarters and urged strong collaboration with the IATF Advisory Council.
He emphasised that the fair has already proven its worth by driving investment, building partnerships, and creating opportunities for African innovators. He called for governments, businesses, and financiers to rally behind the institution in its early years.
