The Office of the Attorney General of the Federation has dismissed allegations of abuse of court process in the ongoing trial of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan. The Kogi Central lawmaker is facing criminal defamation charges before the FCT High Court in Abuja, following her comments involving Senate President Godswill Akpabio and former Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello.
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan had accused the federal government of duplicating charges by also arraigning her before the Federal High Court on alleged cybercrime offences. But prosecutors said both cases were properly filed after “comprehensive and conclusive” investigations.
