Air Peace has expressed confidence that its CEO, Allen Onyema, and Chief of Administration and Finance, Ejiroghene Eghagha, will be cleared of the charges brought against them by the United States government.
The airline issued a statement following a superseding indictment from the US attorney’s office in Georgia, which accuses Mr Onyema and Mr Eghagha of submitting falsified documents to obstruct a federal investigation.
According to Ryan Buchanan, a US attorney, both Mr Onyema and Mr Eghagha allegedly attempted to submit false documents in an effort to hinder the government’s investigation. These additional charges follow years of scrutiny related to their alleged involvement in money laundering.
