Air Peace, Embraer to Build Nigeria’s First MRO Facility

Air Peace has announced a strategic partnership with Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer to establish a Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul facility in Nigeria. The move, unveiled alongside the launch of direct Lagos–São Paulo flights, is expected to boost aviation capacity and the wider economy.

The airline, which recently ordered 21 Embraer jets with five already delivered, says the MRO hangar will be completed within 12 to 15 months. Chairman Allen Onyema described the project as a step toward self-reliance in aircraft servicing and a platform for regional growth.

The Lagos–São Paulo service, carrying Nigerian officials and business leaders, also underscores growing trade and tourism links between the two nations. Air Peace says the partnership will extend beyond Brazil, aiming to support aviation needs across South America while opening new opportunities for Nigerian enterprises.
