The Anambra State Government has sealed the Nkwo-Ogbe market in Ihiala Local Government Area for one week after traders refused to open for business on Monday in defiance of efforts to end the sit-at-home order.
The Chairman of Ihiala Local Government Council, Anayochukwu Ojiako, confirmed the closure on Monday, saying the action was taken to serve as a warning and enforce compliance with government directives.
He said Nkwo-Ogbe was the only market in the area that failed to open on Mondays, despite repeated appeals by market leaders and local authorities.
