APC Members Protest Alleged Imposition of Appointees in Lagos

Some members of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos State have staged a protest at the State House of Assembly, accusing party leaders of planning to impose appointees across the 20 local governments and 37 LCDAs.

The protesters, drawn from various parts of the state, also demanded the removal of APC state chairman Cornelius Ojelabi, whom they accused of mismanaging the 2025 local government elections and leading the party to recent electoral defeats.

Security was heightened around the Assembly complex as demonstrators carried placards reading “Ojelabi Must Go” and “We Want Fresh Leadership.” Deputy Governor Kadri Hamzat visited the protest ground, promising that the matter would be resolved internally.

Group leader Segun Faleye submitted a letter on behalf of the protesters, saying the party had veered off its progressive ideals and suffered major losses due to Ojelabi’s “selfish leadership.”
