The Katsina State Independent Electoral Commission, KTSIEC, has declared the All Progressives Congress, APC, the winner of Saturday’s local government and council elections across all 34 local government areas of the state.
The contest featured five political parties, including Accord, the African Action Congress, and the African Development Congress. However, the APC secured a sweeping victory, winning both chairmanship and council positions by significant margins.

Announcing the results on Sunday, KTSIEC Chairman Lawal Faskari attributed the delay to late submissions from some local governments, preventing a same-day collation. With all results in, the commission finalised the tally and issued the official outcome.
Mr Faskari expressed gratitude to party leaders, election observers, and stakeholders for ensuring a smooth process. The landslide victory further cements the APC’s dominance in Katsina’s local governance.
