Troops of the 12 Brigade Lokoja have killed a notorious bandit commander, Kachalla Bala, and five of his associates during an operation in Kogi State. The army confirmed the deaths in a statement on Monday.
Brigade spokesman Lieutenant Hassan Abdullahi said the troops recovered five Dane guns, one motorcycle, two mobile phones, and an AK-47 magazine with 20 rounds of ammunition. The operation, codenamed Egwua A Tite II, ran from 1 to 5 September across Lokoja, Kabba-Bunu, and Yagba West.
