Former Super Eagles striker Kanu Nwankwo has urged the Nigeria Football Federation to appoint Augustine Eguavoen as the permanent Super Eagles coach.
The Super Eagles have been without a permanent coach since Finidi George was sacked in June following a poor run of results. Since then, former Super Eagles’ player, Augustine Eguavoen, has been serving as an interim coach. He has also had to take charge of the home-based team.
Under his stewardship as coach, Nigeria have not lost any game. They have won three and drawn just one. However, despite his impressive run of games, the NFF have not given him the nod for the job permanently.
With Eguavoen in charge of the Super Eagles, they have qualified for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. His next task with the team will be rescuing a 2026 World Cup ticket.
