At least 46 Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes across Gaza on Wednesday, as international mediators pushed for a truce and a captives-for-prisoners exchange.
Middle East-based journalist, Tareq Abu Azzoum, reported that the majority of strikes were concentrated in northern Gaza, particularly around Gaza City. Five people were killed in a strike on a Gaza City park, while an attack on a school sheltering displaced people in Jabalia claimed four lives. In central Gaza, a strike on a family home in the Bureij refugee camp killed at least 10 people, including women and children.

Palestinian officials estimate over 45,900 fatalities and more than 109,000 wounded in Gaza since Israel’s assault began following the October 7 Hamas attack, which killed 1,139 people in southern Israel and saw 250 taken captive. Mediation efforts continue as the humanitarian toll escalates.
