At least 555 people have been killed in Iran after US and Israeli strikes across 131 counties, the Iranian Red Crescent Society reports. The attacks are part of ongoing military operations following the assassination of Iran’s supreme leader.
Mehr News Agency said 35 people died in Fars province on Monday, while more than 20 were killed in an attack on Niloofar Square in Tehran. Residential buildings were destroyed in several cities, including Sanandaj and Kermanshah.
Iran’s ambassador to the International Atomic Energy Agency, Reza Najafi, said the Natanz nuclear enrichment site was targeted on Sunday. US and Israeli officials have not confirmed the strike. Hospitals and civilian areas have also been damaged, with patients evacuated from affected facilities.
