Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has called on Felix Morka, spokesperson for the All Progressives Congress, APC, to elucidate his recent comments concerning Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State.
Mr Obi, who ran as the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in Nigeria’s 2023 elections, alleged on Monday that he has faced threats due to his persistent criticism of President Bola Tinubu’s administration. The allegations surfaced after Mr Morka reportedly stated that Mr Obi had “crossed the line so many times” and would face the consequences of his actions.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Mr Abubakar denounced Mr Morka’s remarks as “inflammatory,” describing them as emblematic of an alarming approach by the current administration in its dealings with opposition figures. He further expressed concern over what he sees as a disturbing trend in the government’s response to dissenting voices.
