Labour Party vice-presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, Datti Baba-Ahmed, has called for a serious examination of claims by former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai that the Federal Government is funding bandits.

Speaking on a televised programme monitored by Radio Now’s newsdesk, Mr. Baba-Ahmed criticised the National Security Adviser’s office for dismissing the remarks, saying such allegations warrant urgent scrutiny. He argued that El-Rufai should be invited to explain his comments before the police and courts.
The remarks add weight to ongoing debates about insecurity, governance, and accountability in Nigeria’s fight against terrorism and banditry.
