Bandits have abducted 16 people, including 11 women and five children, during an attack on the Makeri, Mai-Ido, and Kushumi communities in the Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The incident occurred on Monday at approximately 12pm when the assailants, some of whom were dressed in army uniforms and armed with AK-47 rifles, struck in broad daylight.
A community leader while confirming the attack, explained that the bandits targeted the villages while many of the men were working in the fields. The assailants set fire to several homes and destroyed farm produce, causing widespread panic.

While troops stationed in Kagarko town were alerted, they arrived too late to prevent the abductions, as the bandits had already fled the scene with the victims. Some residents have since sought refuge in Kagarko and nearby Janjala.
The police have confirmed the attack but have not released further details.
