Six people have been killed and eight others injured after suspected bandits planted explosives along the Mai Lamba axis of the Dansadau-Gusau road in Zamfara State. The incident occurred on Wednesday in Maru Local Government Area, causing panic among residents and commuters.
According to Eyewitness report a Volkswagen Golf 3 vehicle triggered the bomb, resulting in a devastating explosion that left victims lying lifeless by the roadside. Gory images from the scene showed passersby in shock as they witnessed the aftermath of the attack.
The Coordinator of the Joint Media Coordination Centre for the Joint Task Force North West Operation Hadarin Daji, Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, confirmed the incident in a statement. He disclosed that an Explosives Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team had been deployed to the area to detect and neutralise any additional explosives.

Colonel Abdullahi assured the public that troops are on the ground to prevent further attacks and ensure the safety of road users. He urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities to security agencies.
