Barcelona Legends Set for Abuja Clash with African Greats

Barcelona’s famed Legends team will face a line-up of African football icons in a high-profile exhibition match at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, on Saturday, 25 October. The encounter is expected to draw 60,000 fans, with kick-off scheduled for 3pm local time.

The Spanish side, coached by Albert Ferrer, will feature several past stars, including Ronaldinho, Ludovic Giuly, Javier Saviola and former Nigerian defender Samuel Okunowo. Their opponents will be led by Austin Jay-Jay Okocha, Nwankwo Kanu, Emmanuel Adebayor and Alex Song, all celebrated names in African football.

The fixture marks Barcelona Legends’ fifth outing on the continent, following previous visits to Mozambique, Morocco, Zambia and DR Congo. Organisers say the match will not only celebrate Barça’s lasting football culture but also showcase Africa’s remarkable reservoir of talent and global contribution to the sport.
