Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri has cautioned against a planned rally and inauguration of a group aligned with Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, warning that such an event could spark unrest in the state.
Raising concerns over what he considers to be a plot to disrupt peace, he stressed that his administration would not tolerate actions that could destabilise Bayelsa. He urged security agencies, traditional rulers, and community leaders to remain vigilant.

Speaking at separate meetings with the Bayelsa Elders Council and the state security council in Yenagoa, Governor Diri warned that holding such a gathering amid political tensions in neighbouring Rivers State could inflame ethnic divisions.
He added that the warning was necessary, citing remarks by the FCT Minister, whom he accused of threatening to instigate crises in PDP-led states.
