The Bayelsa State Government will arraign five suspects in the murder of 42-year-old estate agent Richard Ekpebu on Monday. Ekpebu was killed over a land sale deal, and his body was found in a bush along New Otuoke Road near Bayelsa Palm on July 24, 2025.
Police investigators from Operation Puff Adder arrested the suspects after investigations in Lagos, Port Harcourt, and Yenagoa. Those to be arraigned include the key suspect, George Idumange, his girlfriend, Victory Bernard, correctional officer Ekiamene Amaoniye, Queen Felix, and Henry Igwe.
The suspects will face multiple charges at State High Court 5, including conspiracy to commit murder, kidnapping, armed robbery, illegal possession of firearms, forgery, and destroying evidence. The case will be heard by Justice Raphael Ajuwa.
