The National Bureau of Statistics has said Benue, Bauchi, and Gombe states paid the highest amount for premium motor spirit, PMS, also known as petrol, in August.
In the PMS report for last month, the NBS said the average petrol price was N830.46 per litre.
According to the bureau, the average retail price paid by consumers showed a 32.51 percent increase compared to the N626.70 recorded in August 2023.

On a State-by-State analysis, Benue State had the highest average retail price PMS at N941.24, followed by Bauchi and Gombe States with N935.71 and N925.00, respectively.
Delta, Cross River, and Edo states had the lowest average retail prices for petrol, at N667.50, N672, and N676.25 respectively.
