Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia has pledged to work closely with the newly elected Speaker of the State Assembly, Alfred Emberga, and legislators for the good of the state.
Mr Emberga was chosen during an emergency sitting following the sudden resignation of his predecessor, Hyacinth Dajoh, amid a leadership crisis and reports of an impeachment plot.

In a message through his press secretary, Governor Alia praised the swift and peaceful transition, describing Mr Emberga’s election as a sign of confidence from his colleagues and a reflection of his leadership qualities.
The governor expressed optimism that under the new Speaker, the Assembly would remain focused on enacting laws that improve citizens’ lives. He urged continued cooperation between the legislature, executive, and judiciary, saying only collaboration can drive sustainable development and strengthen democracy in Benue.
