Fast-rising Nigerian singer Ayo Benzi has won the inaugural ‘Next Afrobeats Star’ competition, taking home a N150 million record deal. The televised talent show, launched in August, began with 300 contestants and narrowed down to a top 12 through auditions, judges’ decisions, and audience votes.
The finalists were divided into four teams, each mentored by renowned Nigerian producers Puffy Tee, P.Prime, Sarz, and Andre Vibez. Benzi emerged victorious from the top four contestants during the grand finale held last Saturday.
