Bitcoin and other major cryptocurrencies continued their upward trend on Monday, with the leading digital asset rising 3.7% to $87,480 as of 09:55 WAT. Ethereum also climbed 4%, trading at $2,093, as market sentiment remained strong despite concerns over impending US tariffs and key economic data expected later in the week.

The global cryptocurrency market capitalisation rose 2.9% over the past 24 hours to $2.84 trillion. Other notable gainers included XRP, Cardano, and Dogecoin, up 3%, 2%, and 3.8%, respectively, while Chainlink, Avalanche, Hedera, and Stellar posted increases ranging between 3% and 10%.
