Bitcoin, the world’s most valuable cryptocurrency, reached an all-time high of $80,945 on Sunday, marking a significant milestone for the digital currency market. The surge comes just days after Bitcoin surpassed $75,000 on Wednesday, the same day Donald Trump won the U.S. presidential election.
According to CoinMarketCap, Bitcoin saw a 5.24 percent increase over the past 24 hours, reaching $80,945.35 by 7:31 pm (GMT+1) today.
Ethereum, the second-largest cryptocurrency by market value, also saw gains, rising 4.64 percent to trade at $3,220. The increase in Ethereum’s value contributed to an overall crypto market rally.
The broader cryptocurrency market capitalization hit a new high of $2.65 trillion, recording a 2.20 percent increase and $157.07 billion in trading volume over the last 24 hours.
