Despite dominating spells and twice striking the crossbar in Oujda, Morocco, Ghana failed to find the net. Head coach Kim Björkegren, just six months into the job, expressed disappointment but praised his team’s spirit.

Veterans Evelyn Badu and Alice Kusi went close, but goals from Jermaine Seoposenwe and Linda Motlhalo, including a penalty, handed South Africa the win.
