The Borno State Government has commenced the relocation of 6,000 families displaced by the Boko Haram insurgency, primarily from Dikwa and Mafa. Governor Babagana Zulum disclosed the move during a visit to Muna camp on Monday, one of the state’s largest displacement sites, sheltering some 11,000 families.
Authorities say deteriorating security and growing illicit activity in the camp necessitated the urgent resettlement. Each household will receive food supplies, healthcare access, and materials to rebuild shelter.

To support reintegration, N100,000 will be disbursed to every household head, regardless of gender, while N50,000 will be provided to spouses. The initiative forms part of a broader effort to close camps and restore stability across conflict-affected communities.
