Former US President Barack Obama has included Nigerian music prominently in his 2025 year-end favourites list. Among the selected tracks are ‘Tatata’ by Afrofusion star Burna Boy, featuring Travis Scott, and ‘99’ by rapper Olamide, featuring Daecolm, Seyi Vibez, Asake, and Young Jonn.
Olamide’s ‘99’ is part of his self-titled 11th studio album and features several of Nigeria’s rising stars in the hip-hop and Afrobeats scene.

Obama’s year-end list, a tradition he started while in office in partnership with Spotify, also includes a mix of international artists across genres. Previous Nigerian entries on his playlist include tracks by Burna Boy, Wizkid, Rema, and Asake, highlighting Afrobeats’ continued worldwide influence.
