The Christian Association of Nigeria has said it has not received any official communication confirming the reported release of 100 students abducted from St. Mary’s Private Catholic Primary and Secondary School in Papiri, Niger State. The Chairman of the Niger State Chapter, Bishop Bulus Yohanna, said on Monday that while such news would be welcome, the affected communities have not been notified of any releases.
Bishop Yohanna said parents and church leaders have continued to pray for the safe return of the abducted students and teachers. He added that the Association remains hopeful that the report is accurate and expressed optimism that the remaining victims will eventually regain their freedom.
