CDS Calls for Enhanced Civil-Military Collaboration in Fight Against Insecurity

The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, has reiterated the Nigerian Armed Forces’ commitment to securing the nation by eliminating criminal elements responsible for widespread insecurity. Speaking to journalists after visiting a military cantonment in Samaru, Zangon Kataf Local Government Area, Kaduna State, he highlighted the provision of essential enablers and equipment to strengthen military efforts in Southern Kaduna and surrounding areas.

General Musa praised the professionalism and sacrifices of Nigerian troops, assuring them that their welfare would be prioritised and improved. He urged soldiers to remain dedicated and uphold human rights while executing their duties. The CDS also stressed the importance of cooperation between security forces and civilians in tackling national security challenges.

Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, Commander of Operation Safe Haven and General Officer Commanding the 3rd Division of the Nigerian Army, encouraged the troops to continue their relentless efforts in securing the region. He underscored the need for sustained vigilance in their operations.

Senator Sunday Marshal, representing Kaduna South, also attended the event, commending the military’s efforts to maintain security in the region. He assured of greater collaboration between the civilian population and the armed forces to strengthen security in Southern Kaduna.
