Ceasefire Means Surrendering To Hamas Says Netanyahu

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says a ceasefire in the Gaza war will not happen.

Speaking at a press conference, Mr. Netanyahu also said other countries must help in the struggle to free more than 230 hostages seized by Hamas in its October 7 attacks, by demanding their immediate and unconditional release.

Clarifying Israel’s position concerning the ceasefire, he said just as the United States did not agree to a ceasefire after the bombing of Pearl Harbor or after the terrorist attack of 9/11, Israel will not agree to the cessation of hostilities with Hamas.

He added that calls for a ceasefire are, in his own words, calls for surrender to Hamas, surrender to terrorism, surrender to barbarism.

Speaking to concerns raised over the safety of civilian Palestinians since Israel increased its ground operations in Gaza, Prime Minister Netanyahu said the army was going out of its way to prevent civilian casualties in Gaza.

The health ministry in Gaza says at least 8,306 Palestinians, including women and children, have been killed in Israeli air and artillery strikes, and 1,400 Israelis in the October 7 attack which triggered the current war.
