Celtic have reached the final of the Premier Sports Cup after defeating Rangers 3–1 in extra time at Hampden Park on Sunday. Johnny Kenny opened the scoring in the 25th minute before James Tavernier’s late penalty drew Rangers level. Callum McGregor restored Celtic’s lead in extra time, and Callum Osmand sealed victory with a composed finish in the 109th minute.
From a Nigerian perspective, attention focused on Kelechi Iheanacho, who was left out of Celtic’s matchday squad despite travelling with the team. The forward has been sidelined with a hamstring injury sustained against Sturm Graz in the Europa League.

Interim manager Martin O’Neill confirmed Iheanacho’s condition is improving, though his chances of a Super Eagles recall for next week’s World Cup playoff against Gabon appear slim.
