CHAN Eagles Camp Gathers Pace as Players Jostle for Final Spots

Preparations for Nigeria’s African Nations Championship (CHAN) campaign intensified on Wednesday with the arrival of Abia Warriors duo Anthony Ijeoma and Sunday Megwo at the team’s training camp in Ikenne, Ogun State—raising the number of players to 28.

Under the supervision of Head Coach Eric Chelle, the home-based Super Eagles completed another round of intensive sessions at the Remo Stars Sports Institute. With 35 players vying for final selection, the mood in camp is described as focused but competitive.

Remo Stars’ Nduka Junior noted the growing intensity, while Rivers United’s Aniekeme Okon called the experience both challenging and rewarding. For Leonard Ngenge of Ikorodu City, the invitation represents a personal milestone.

Coach Chelle is keen to assess all players thoroughly before announcing his final squad. Nigeria is grouped alongside defending champions Senegal, Sudan, and Congo in Group D.
