Chairman of the Federal Civil Service Commission, Professor Tunji Olaopa, has called for an overhaul of disciplinary procedures in the civil service to tackle delays and inefficiency. Speaking at a joint retreat with the Office of the Head of the Civil Service in Abuja, he urged stronger collaboration to address overlapping functions and improve coordination between the two institutions.
The retreat, themed ‘Enhancing Collaboration for an Efficient and Productive Civil Service,’ also discussed reforms in performance management, merit-based recruitment, and wage structures.

Professor Olaopa described the FCSC and the Head of Service’s office as “Siamese twins,” saying their success depends on mutual trust and regular dialogue. Mrs. Didi Walson-Jack and other officials echoed his call for unity and policy alignment.
