CJN Denies Phone Call With President Tinubu Over PEPC Proceedings

Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Olukayoode Ariwoola, has denied rumours claiming he had a telephone conversation with President Bola Tinubu and the Director-General of the State Security Services (SSS), over the pending post-election petitions before the Presidential Election Petitions Court.

In a statement on Wednesday through the Director of Information of the Supreme Court, Mr. Festus Akande, the CJN stated that there is no iota of truth in the narrative on social media.

As the head of Nigeria’s Supreme Court, and the entire judicial arm of government, the Chief Justice of Nigeria has the power to appoint the members of the Presidential Election Petition Court.

Justice Ariwoola called on Nigerians to cooperate with the judiciary to serve the country to its full capacity.
