South Africa coach Hugo Broos remains confident his side can finish top of Group C in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, despite a potential setback over an administrative error.
Bafana Bafana lead the group with 13 points, five ahead of second-placed Rwanda, while Nigeria sit fourth on seven points after matchday six. However, South Africa risk losing three points after Teboho Mokoena, who should have been suspended, played in their 2-0 win against Lesotho.

Broos has urged his players to stay focused and avoid further missteps as they approach the decisive phase of qualification. With Nigeria and other rivals still in contention, the South African coach believes his squad has what it takes to secure a place at the 2026 tournament.
